Annual Double Play Duathlon
March 16, 2008 8:00AM
CANCELLED!!!

Folks, I regret to inform you that we are
cancelling the 2nd annual Double Play Duathlon due to construction
in and around the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Two weeks
ago we reviewed the site with Rangers officials and while
there was significant construction, it was not to the point
of impeding transition or the run courses. This afternoon
we again reviewed the site with plans to adjust. Instead we
found increased construction. In talking with the Rangers
and security we have been told all this will NOT be complete
until opening day in April. The construction is such that
it is dangerous and could pose a physical threat to our athletes.
Our first concern is and always will be your safety.
Interestingly the bike portion is okay despite areas of construction.
However around the Ballpark and within the concourse there
is construction and the stockpiling of building supplies which
would obstruct our modified run course and put all of you
in danger. We plan to have this race again in 2009 when all
this is complete. Due to the extensive use of the Ballpark
from April thru October, holding a race then would not be
realistic or prudent.
For those of you that have already paid, you have 3 options:
1. Transfer of your credit to any of our other 23 events which
includes 3 other duathlons still available in 2008. Go to
the calendar page for
the complete list.
2. Take a raincheck and be automatically entered into the
2009 Double Play Du, no additional fees required.
3. Request a refund. We'll mail you a check.
In any case we need you to send us an e-mail with your desires.
For those events on our list that are less then $60.00, a
refund for the difference will be issued when you pick up
your packet if you desire to transfer. This transfer is also
good for PrairieMan Half in which case you would simply owe
the difference.
If you have any questions, please e-mail us at: ironjack@ironheadrp.com.
Again, we are sorry for this cancellation but your safety
comes first.
Thanks,
Jack
